If you're in the Virginia area you're likely to be welcome at this only semi-secret workshop/conference next month at Washington & Lee University in Lexington, VA. I was looking forward to meeting John Gibson, but apparently he can't make it. The program includes William Brenner, Richard Brockhaus, David Cerbone, Chris Hoyt, Simon Levy, Charles Lowney, William Meroney, Andrew Moser, Ted Parent, David Schalkwyk, and me. As the poster says, contact Charles Lowney if you would like to go.
Cool. That's the end of my spring break, so I'm going to look into it. (Family stuff is very busy though, so I'm not very hopeful that "looking into it" will get very far...) Does this semi-secret event go on every year at W&L?
ReplyDeleteIt goes on every 18 months or so at various places in Virginia. It was started by Jim Klagge at Virginia Tech, and it's since been at VMI, then in Floyd, VA, and now at W&L. It might even be held outside Virginia one of these years. The area covered is pretty broad, as John Gibson's inclusion shows (he's at the University of Louisville).
ReplyDeleteIt's not really secret (as I imagine you might have guessed) but it is a discussion of works in progress, not a presentation of finished material. So it's not completely open either. I'm sure you would be very welcome though.
And I would certainly welcome your presence. Sorry I forgot to mention that.
