Assistant or Associate Professor of English
March 14, 2013Multiple tenure-track positions, beginning August 2013, to teach in an English major that integrates fields in the humanities and the arts - rhetoric and writing, literature, fine arts, and philosophy - through a central focus on rhetorical studies.
We seek candidates who demonstrate a strong interest in engaging in the opportunities that an interdisciplinary department like ours presents for teaching, scholarly engagement, community outreach, and mentorship of students. Assistant or associate professor rank possible. Preference will be given to candidates with Ph.D. by August 2013, but ABDs will be considered.
Candidates must both fill out an on-line application at the Virginia jobs site and submit required supporting materials (a letter of application, résumé, official transcript, and three letters of recommendation) either by e-mail to RCSearch@vmi.edu or by mail to Dr. Emily Miller, Head, Department of English and Fine Arts, Virginia Military Institute, Lexington, VA 24450.
